EARLY IN the upcoming tech-thriller “Eagle Eye,” a suspected terrorist is in the back seat of an SUV bouncing along a rugged road in Afghanistan as a U.S. spy drone follows it from the skies overhead. The drone detects a cellphone in the car, captures its number and sends it to Washington. Intelligence agents dial the number and, as its owner starts to answer it, they order the camera to snap a photo, which is then transmitted to a distant American command center where a missile attack is being considered. Shia will be attending the 2008 Video Music Awards on September 7, 2008, Sunday. Expect full coverage!

It’s been a rough summer for Indiana Jones star Shia LaBeouf, who crushed his hand in a car accident resulting in his arrest on suspicion of drunk driving. But don’t count him out, says a pal.

“He’s been through a lot, he’s had a hard life, and he grew up with some scars. But he’s a fighter,” says Christy Carlson Romano, who costarred with LaBeouf in the Disney TV series Even Stevens. “I have his back.”

But LaBeouf is no angel, she admits. “In fact, he’s crazy like a rock star!” she says. Read Full Story »

If all goes well for Hollywood, Shia LaBeouf and Zac Efron will be the new Reese Witherspoon.

The fall movie season begins today. Running through Halloween weekend, the next two months will boast plenty of stars, a good number of Oscar contenders, including Oliver Stone’s W., but possibly few, if any, box-office blockbusters.

It’s been six years, in fact, since any film released in September grossed more than $100 million, Exhibitor Relations reported this week. The last movie to do so was the Witherspoon comedy Sweet Home Alabama. Read Full Story »
